Good food is elementary for enjoying holidays and Kos offers many venue choices for traditional Greek or international cuisine. The selection varies from traditional Greek taverns and restaurants right down to pizza huts, snack bars and fast - food establishments mostly with take-away service.

The Greek cuisine has an endless list of tasteful dishes to suggest from starter to desserts for the culinary pleasure of its lovers.

Greek salad and tzaziki or taramosalata are a good start to be followed by dolmadakia or moussaka and souvlaki before mama’s traditional syrup delicacies.

Fish is the Greek specialty indeed and a delicacy when combined with sea delights as starters followed by fish coloured on burning charcoal. Octopus, shrimps, mussels, squids…, one should try them all!

A glass of Ouzo can be the best aperitif (more than two glasses might be too many) and the beer ‘Mythos’ or ‘Alfa’ or ‘Fix’ will nicely quench your thirst. A chilled bottle of Retsina (resin flavoured white wine) could be a low priced choice, but the endless variety of the Greek wines –from house or table ones up to châteaux types- will certainly satisfy the most demanding taste of connoisseurs. The choice of Greek wines are plentiful, ranging from the driest to dry to the very sweet and the quality is surprisingly superior.

The local wine factories of Triantafillopoulos and Hatziemmanouil have conquered the market of Kos and not only.

You can often enjoy your meals to the tunes of live Greek music and colourful folk dancing. If you want to join in, we guarantee that it is the best way to digest your meal.
