Perched on a hilltop overlooking Pothia, this monastery consists of various buildings and chapels among which one houses the tomb of Saint Savvas, believed to have healing powers.
A beautiful new church and a fine imposing bell-tower are standing in the middle of the monastery, offering a wonderful panoramic view over the whole island.
Nuns are still leaving in the old buildings of this monastery.
Visitors must be dressed according to the dress code: long sleeves and skirts for women and long trousers and sleeves for men.
